Today I’m going to tell you something about investing strategies and what they should characterize with, and we will try to determine what investors are.
Probably not once happened to you to perform certain things without preparation. It just happened because there was an opportunity or because you were goaded by someone. What happened then? Well, probably you were surprised. For example, it appeared that suddenly we were out of material to finish something, or we hit your finger and this stopped our further action. Sometimes we succeed and we are happy but it happens that not everything goes the way we want, and what then? We usually give up the task, or put more and more work to finish what we started.
And yet all this might have been avoided with well thought out plan. This would protect us against many problems and certainly would reduce additional costs.
Similar situation is with investing. Here we need a good investment plan, where we try to foresee everything in order to manage our capital safely and effectively. This plan is nothing more than appearing on the network term: strategy.
How to build your strategy?
This is not a simple thing but you can specify the main points which should be characterized by a good strategy. They are:
Action Scheme.
To create a strategy we need to know when to apply and close the orders and what factors or market conditions are causing some specific action. At this stage, since we investors need to have knowledge about the instrument, especially its characteristics, volatility and dependence on world events. This knowledge is acquired over time through observation, training or trying to invest on a demo account. What matters here is the experience and above all conviction that the conditions under which we close and open orders are properly defined. This stage is fundamental and difficult task to identify. At the end of our actions we should have our scheme determined. The scheme should be a pattern of actions which, once carried out, showed to be successful and bring profit. The decisions taken by us should be automatic, and not burdened with emotions.
Included risk.
At this point we define the value of our orders, which will allow us to invest our money safely. As it was described in the management risk. The value of the risk we take will be mainly depended on our personality and the amount of capital. It is important to note that the action scheme must necessarily be effective (as well) at a later stage.
Assessment of suitability.
In this term I understand to create a mechanism to determine whether such an indicator, which tells us that our system is inefficient and we should stop to using it.
The way of building our strategy also depend on our personality.
Some of us like the risk, others in general do not even take it. We investors should be:
Consistent action will allow us to avoid wander from the scheme should protect us from unaccounted loss. We should have nerves of steel in order to be able to withstand even a momentary big loss, which may then turn into our profit. At the end, it is important to have a springboard, to escape from negative emotions, which sometimes will occur. Do not forget that money is needed but also remember that our health is priceless.
Is it possible to invest without a plan?
Yes it is. Yet there are no strictly enforced rules you have to follow. Investing without a plan as a beginner will probably bring you lose. However, some people who do not have a plan can successfully invest their money. Usually these are people who has been into it for a very long time. They are able to assess intuitively the behavior of the market, they just feel it.
As a beginner you will probably create an account with little capital in order to see if this actually works in reality or you will use the demo account first. Remember that the attitude changes together with the amount of money you invest. The loss of a large sum can be painful. Smaller amount of money down the drain is somehow less painful. However this is not the best attitude. It is better to learn just to treat smaller and bigger sums of money the same way. Loss is always a loss. When investing it is better to allocate a sum of money which loss will not burden our home budget.
So whether the market is for gamblers?
I will tell you that it is better not to invest this way. The fact is that it pays to invest money than to buy a lottery ticket. Market evokes strong emotions, looking at our rising profits is very enjoyable. Such factors attract people. It impossible to avoid people who perceive investing this way. They often operate without a plan, or take enormous risk. Sometimes they manage, sometimes not.
So let us learn to control our emotions, because they are the main cause of our failures, and let us invest with strategies we tested. No matter they are ours or not, it's important to be effective.
